Jessica will ensure that cases are given the attention they need and that parties get their day in court, and she will do so while maintaining an efficient docket. Timely, thoughtful decisions are important because delays in our civil justice system can harm parties in the case and our larger community.

Jessica is the only woman in Travis County who is board certified in construction law. Since 2014, she has been hearing cases on the City of Austin’s Building and Standards Commission. Jessica is the current Chair of the Commission, which decides cases involving unsafe and substandard properties.

Many people are unaware of the free and low-cost legal services available for civil and family law matters. Jessica will ensure that people in her court are aware of the resources available to them, including the law library, Volunteer Legal Services, Lawyer Referral Services, and other county and local nonprofit resources.
